Whiteface Mountain Cloudsplitter GondolaThe 8-passenger Cloundsplitter is the newest gondola ride in North America. This scenic ride takes you from the base lodge at Whiteface Mountain to the summit of Little Whiteface at 3676 feet in less than 15 minutes.
Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial HighwayDrive the Veterans Memorial Toll Highway to the Summit of Whiteface Mountain, the only Adirondack High Peak accessible by car. Once at the top, you are rewarded with an elevator ride to the summit for a 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding wilderness.

This small glacier lake lies in the middle of Lake Placid / Whiteface Mountain Village. The self-guided tour takes you on a stroll around the lake and takes approximately one hour, depending on time spent window shopping on Main Street.
Ausable RiverThe Ausable River (also known as Au Sable River) flows along the back side of Lake Placid/Whiteface KOA and is home to nine of the High Peaks of the Adirondacks: Algonquin, Cascade, Giant, Gothics, Basin, Haystack, Skylight, Nippletop, and Whiteface. Wilmington beach is located park close to Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA and offers a large, sandy beach on the Ausable River. A roped swimming area makes it especially good for young children.
Enjoy music on the Ausable River, every Thursday in July and August at 6:30pm.
Ausable ChasmThe Ausable Chasm (also known as the "Little Grand Canyon of the East") is an awesome scenic wonder of the Adirondacks and is less than a one hour drive from the Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA.
